Description

We are Liz and Scott Black, wife and husband, artist and programmer. The creators of ‘Finding Sutherland’, a game about exploring gravity and early title to launch on RED’s Hydrogen phone.

History

Inspiration

Cascadio is based on a hydrology algorithm used in research to derive flow directions from digital elevation maps. The first prototype was made in 2019 and we've been working on it since to bring a new puzzle game mechanic that feels like Sudoku, but plays faster.

Sound Design

The sound design is driven by the puzzles. The sounds of each tile are dynamic and informed by the value of each tile. The sound then cascades down the flow to create sounds that react to how you play.
